The story behind the bottle.
I miss Violet by The Different Company, launched in 2015 and crafted by Bertrand Duchaufour, is a complex fragrance that oscillates between the powdery sweetness of violet and the subtle muskiness of leather. Opening with notes of violet leaf and mandarin orange, it transitions into a heart of champaca and ambrette, creating an intriguing tension between freshness and warmth. The base layers of leather, mahogany, and ambergris add depth, grounding the composition in earthy richness.
Apply this fragrance with two sprays — it blooms slowly over time. The powdery top notes are fleeting but essential for setting up the deeper layers, which take about an hour to fully emerge. It reads best close to skin rather than across a room.
