Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
South Bay by The Different Company was launched in 2013 and is the creation of perfumer Émilie Coppermann. This woody aromatic fragrance for women and men opens with a vibrant burst of grapefruit and petitgrain, adding an invigorating freshness to the composition. As it settles, freesia and rose hip bring a floral touch that contrasts beautifully against the backdrop of woody notes like vetiver and sandalwood. The finish is warm and earthy, grounded by white suede, creating a scent that feels both modern and lasting.
Apply South Bay in light layers — its vibrant top notes are most noticeable initially but fade within an hour. The woody and earthy base notes will carry you through the day, making it ideal for daytime wear.
