The story behind the bottle.
Van Cleef by Van Cleef & Arpels was launched in 1993 and crafted by perfumer Pascal Giraux. This Oriental Floral fragrance opens with a burst of freshness from marigold, galbanum, and neroli, creating an aromatic and green contrast to the sweet raspberry and bergamot notes that follow. The heart of this composition features soft florals like orange blossom, jasmine, and rose, which are complemented by spicy geranium. As it settles into a warm balsamic base of tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood, cedar, and musk, Van Cleef evolves from crisp freshness to a rich, enveloping warmth.
One or two sprays to the pulse points is enough to capture the essence of this fragrance. The aromatic top notes are bright but fleeting, so allow it time to settle into its rich balsamic base before venturing out.
