Launched in 2021 by Jordi Fernández for Versace, Safran Royal is a bold and complex unisex fragrance that marries warm spices with rich leather and earthy undertones. The composition begins with an intense burst of saffron and other spicy accords, which then gives way to a heart of patchouli and metallic notes, creating an unexpected contrast between warmth and coolness. As the scent settles into its woody and amber base, it reveals an animalic depth that adds layers of intrigue and sophistication.
Safran Royal is best applied in a single generous spritz. Its top notes are intense but fleeting, while its base notes develop slowly over time. The animalic undertones ensure it reads better close to skin rather than from across a room, making it ideal for intimate settings or evening wear.
