The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2007, Opium Orient Extreme by Yves Saint Laurent is an Oriental Spicy fragrance that marries the freshness of citrus with the warmth of spices and vanilla. The composition opens with mandarin orange and bergamot, providing a bright contrast to the heart notes of jasmine and carnation. These floral scents are balanced by the rich, earthy undertones of opoponax, patchouli, and amber, creating a complex interplay between freshness and warmth. This fragrance is both bold and sensuous, embodying the sophisticated elegance for which Yves Saint Laurent is known.
One or two sprays is sufficient to capture the essence of this fragrance. The top notes are bright but fade within an hour, giving way to the rich base notes that carry through the day. It's best worn in cooler weather when its warmth can be fully appreciated.
