Launched in 2021, Material by Amouage is a complex oriental vanilla fragrance crafted by perfumer Cécile Zarokian. The composition opens with elemi and patchouli, creating a warm aromatic base that transitions into the heart of Madagascar vanilla, benzoin, and tonka bean, offering a rich and comforting sweetness. The smoky and woody notes from incense, labdanum, guaiac wood, agarwood (oud), and osmanthus add depth and complexity, making Material a fragrance that evolves throughout the day.
Material has a long-lasting base that gradually develops over time. A light spritz is enough to carry you through the day, as the smoky and woody elements slowly reveal themselves. This fragrance reads better close to skin rather than across a room, so apply it directly on pulse points for the best effect.
