Launched in 2016 by Chanel, Cuir de Russie Eau de Parfum is a composition that defies the conventional boundaries of leather fragrances. It opens with an aromatic blend of citrus — mandarin orange and bergamot — which cuts through the richness of the smoky tobacco and birch notes that follow. The heart of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and rose adds layers of floral warmth, while the base of leather and resins grounds it in a deep, enveloping embrace. This fragrance is not just about the traditional charm of leather; instead, it captures the essence of an enigmatic journey through a textured landscape.
Given its long-lasting nature and moderate sillage, one or two sprays are sufficient to carry the fragrance throughout the day. It settles into the skin over time, so it's best applied in the morning for a full experience.
