The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2001 by Clive Christian, a brand that traces its lineage back to the esteemed Crown Perfumery established in London in 1872, 1872 For Men is a proof of the house’s commitment to luxury and tradition. Geza Schoen crafted this composition with an aromatic and citrus-heavy opening that reads as fresh and zesty — petitgrain, lime, and bergamot mingle with lavender and grapefruit. As it evolves, the scent transitions into a heart of floral and green notes like marigold, jasmine, and galbanum before settling into a warm woody base of cedar, patchouli, and amber.
The fragrance is a blend of contrasts, balancing bright citrus with earthy woods, and adding unexpected sweetness through peach and pineapple. This dynamic interplay makes 1872 For Men feel both lasting and modern.
Apply one to two sprays to your pulse points — the bright citrus opening is prominent but fades within an hour. The warm woody base lingers longer, so it’s best suited for daytime wear when you want a crisp scent that evolves subtly throughout the day.
