Comme des Garçons Play, launched in 2007 and crafted by perfumer Aurélien Guichard, is a fragrance that embodies the brand's avant-garde ethos through its complex interplay of fresh and warm notes. Lime and bitter orange open with a bright citrus burst, while pepper and saffron introduce a spicy tension. The marine and earthy elements add depth, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounded and invigorating.
Start with one spray — the bright citrus opening is immediate but fades quickly into the warm spiciness. The musky base develops over time, so it's best to let it settle for an hour before reapplying if needed.
