Launched in 2012, La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain is an Oriental Vanilla fragrance that serves as a modern olfactory tribute to the iconic little black dress. The composition opens with sour cherry and almond, leading to a heart of red berries, bergamot, and licorice before settling into a warm base of vanilla, tonka bean, and patchouli. Thierry Wasser crafted this scent with luxurious and rare materials, reflecting Guerlain’s long-standing tradition of using high-quality ingredients. The fragrance's bottle reuses the brand's century-old 'inverted heart' flacon shape, updated with a black-to-powder-pink gradient and an elegant dress illustration by Kuntzel + Deygas.
La Petite Robe Noire projects best with a moderate spritz — the sour cherry and almond top notes are bright but fleeting. The heart and base notes develop gradually over the first hour, so it’s perfect for daytime wear when you want to feel put-together without overpowering the room.
