Jean-Paul Guerlain launched Samsara Extrait in 1989 as a sophisticated woody-oriental composition for women. The fragrance opens with bright citrus and green notes before diving into a heart of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and iris, which adds warmth and depth. The base is rich with vanilla, tonka bean, amber, and musk, creating an enveloping powdery comfort that feels like a gentle embrace.
This extract concentration is intense, so a single spray goes a long way. The base notes take about an hour to fully bloom, making it ideal for layering under a jacket or applying in the morning for all-day warmth.
