Launched in 1989, Samsara Eau de Parfum by Guerlain was the result of an unusual creative process: Jean-Paul Guerlain competed against outside perfumers for his own brand. The winning composition blends powdery iris and violet with warm amber and vanilla, creating a rich blend that is both classic and innovative. Originally formulated with up to 30% natural Mysore sandalwood, the fragrance's early editions are legendary among enthusiasts, fueling ongoing debate about how modern reformulations using synthetic alternatives have altered its character.
Samsara's rich base notes take time to develop, so apply two sprays and let it settle into your skin for at least an hour. The fragrance reads better close to the skin than across a room, making it perfect for intimate settings or quiet moments.
