Launched in 2005, Shalimar 80th Anniversary Limited Edition by Guerlain is a celebration of the brand’s rich heritage and its enduring legacy. This Oriental fragrance opens with bright citrus notes like bergamot, mandarin orange, and lemon, creating an initial burst of freshness. As it develops, the composition gives way to a heart of powdery florals such as iris, rose, and jasmine, softened by balsamic accords like patchouli and vetiver. The base notes are rich with amber, vanilla, leather, incense, tonka bean, sandalwood, civet, and musk, creating a warm and enveloping embrace.
This fragrance blooms over time, so it’s best to apply it lightly at first. Allow it to develop on your skin for about half an hour before reapplying if needed. The base notes take a while to reveal themselves fully, making this scent ideal for evening wear.
