The story behind the bottle.
Apercu by Houbigant was launched in 2000 as a chypre fragrance for women. This composition opens with fresh green and citrus notes — bergamot and Amalfi lemon — that create an immediate sense of crispness and brightness. The heart is rich with floral essences like jasmine, neroli, and tuberose, adding layers of complexity and depth. As it settles, the fragrance reveals its woody and mossy base notes, including oakmoss, patchouli, vetiver, and sandalwood, grounding the composition in earthy warmth.
Apply this fragrance with two generous sprays — it blooms best when allowed to develop on skin. The citrus and green top notes are fleeting but impactful, so aim for a spot that you can revisit throughout the day as they fade into the deeper woodsy base.
