The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Launched in 1882 by Houbigant, Fougere Royale is a pioneering aromatic fougère fragrance created by Paul Parquet. The composition opens with fresh spicy and citrusy notes of bergamot and clary sage, leading into a heart of lavender and floral accords like geranium and rose. These are anchored by the warm, powdery base notes of oakmoss, tonka bean, and vanilla, creating an enduring olfactory experience that defined its genre for generations to come.

How to wear it

One or two sprays are sufficient — the fresh aromatic top notes are vibrant but fade within an hour. The powdery and floral heart notes gradually emerge over time, ensuring a lasting yet subtle presence throughout the day.
