The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2017 by Issey Miyake and crafted by perfumers Aurélien Guichard and Fabrice Pellegrin, L'Eau Majeure d'Issey is a composition that balances freshness with warmth. The fragrance opens with a bright citrus-aromatic blend of grapefruit, bergamot, and mint, evoking the crispness of a coastal breeze. This freshness gives way to a heart of sea notes and hedione, creating an aquatic atmosphere that feels both expansive and grounding. A base of woody, powdery, and musky accords rounds out the composition, offering a sense of warmth and comfort.
Apply two to three sprays for optimal wear — the bright top notes are most noticeable in the first hour. As they fade, the woody base becomes more prominent, making this fragrance ideal for daytime wear when you want a fresh yet subtle scent.
