The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2019 by Parfums de Marly, Sedley is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for both women and men, crafted by perfumers Olivier Cresp and Hamid Merati-Kashani. The composition opens with bright citrus notes like lemon and bergamot, which are balanced by fresh spicy elements such as rosemary and lavender. As the fragrance develops, woody accords of sandalwood and cedar emerge, complemented by warm amber and musky undertones. Sedley has become widely recognized for its distinctive profile, often imitated in budget fragrances like Lattafa Mayar and Lattafa Mahiir Legacy. Interestingly, some enthusiasts note that Rasasi Blue for Men, which predates Sedley, shares an uncanny similarity with this fragrance.
Apply Sedley sparingly — its citrus opening is bright but fades within two hours. The woody base notes take about an hour to fully bloom, so a light spritz on pulse points will ensure you experience the full depth of the fragrance throughout the day.
