Paul Guerlain's The Cut by Penhaligon's is a striking aromatic fougère that launched in 2025. This composition opens with a fresh spicy and green accord, which creates an immediate sense of crispness and sharpness. As it settles into the heart, lavender brings a soothing yet distinctive note, balancing the spiciness with its calming presence. The woody base provides warmth and depth, ensuring that the fragrance remains grounded and sophisticated throughout the day.
Apply one to two sprays to allow the fresh spicy top notes to shine initially. The woody base emerges gradually, so it's best suited for daytime wear when you can appreciate its evolving character over time.
