The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Le Participe Passe, launched by Serge Lutens in 2018 and crafted by perfumer Christopher Sheldrake, is a composition that balances fresh spice with caramel sweetness and balsamic warmth. The opening notes of artemisia, bergamot, and pepper create an immediate tension, while the heart introduces fruity accents and Egyptian balsam for depth. As it settles, the scent reveals a rich blend of caramel, leather, patchouli, and resins, creating a complex and enveloping experience.

How to wear it

Apply this fragrance with a light hand as it blooms quickly on skin. The caramel and balsamic notes are warm and linger throughout the day, making it ideal for layering over your morning routine.
