The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Launched in 2004 by Versace and crafted by perfumer Antoine Lie, Crystal Noir is a darkly alluring Oriental Floral fragrance. It opens with the fresh spice of pepper, ginger, and cardamom before transitioning into a heart of gardenia, orange blossom, and peony. The base notes of sandalwood, musk, and amber create a warm, powdery finish that reads as both sensual and sophisticated.

Praised within fragrance communities for its exceptional longevity and sillage, Crystal Noir stands out as a dark, sultry counterpoint to the fruity and aquatic trends of the early 2000s. It has developed a devoted cult following among enthusiasts who consider it underrated relative to its niche-level performance and gothic/femme-fatale character.

How to wear it

Crystal Noir projects well due to its strong sillage, so one or two sprays are sufficient. The spicy top notes fade within an hour, but the base of musk and amber continues to develop for hours, making it ideal for evening wear.
