The story behind the bottle.
Belle d'Opium Eau de Parfum Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent, launched in 2012 and crafted by Alberto Morillas, is an Oriental Woody fragrance that captures the essence of opulence and elegance. The composition opens with mandarin orange and star anise, providing a bright yet spicy contrast to the heart notes of jasmine, gardenia, and lily, which read as a lush floral bouquet. This floral richness is then grounded by warm spices like incense and tobacco, along with balsamic woods like sandalwood and patchouli, creating a sensual and enveloping base.
Apply this fragrance to pulse points for a longer-lasting effect. The spicy notes are particularly noticeable initially but give way to the rich floral heart after about 30 minutes. It pairs well with layered clothing, as it reads better close to skin rather than in an open space.
