The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2015 by Yves Saint Laurent and crafted by perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie, Trench is a Floral Fruity fragrance for both women and men. The composition opens with bright citrus notes of tangerine and bergamot, paired with the freshness of fig, creating an immediate sense of vibrancy and lightness. This fresh start gradually gives way to a heart of iris and neroli, offering a sophisticated floral touch that is neither too sweet nor overpowering. The base notes of musk, ambrette (musk mallow), and cedar provide warmth and depth, grounding the composition in earthy, powdery tones.
Trench is best applied lightly but directly on pulse points. The citrus and fig top notes are bright and immediate, so a little goes a long way. Allow it to settle for about an hour before reapplying if needed; the musky base will continue to develop throughout the day.

Amandine Clerc Marie
Grasse-born, Firmenich-trainedAmandine Clerc-Marie is a French perfumer born in Grasse, where her mother also worked in the perfume industry. She trained at ISIPCA and spent more than ten years working alongside Michel Almairac before joining Firmenich in 2011 as a senior perfumer.
