The story behind the bottle.
Baruffa by Atkinsons was launched in 1981, a time when the brand's legacy of royal patronage and traditional English elegance still loomed large. This floral aldehyde fragrance opens with bright citrus and aromatic notes, including bergamot and star anise, which create a fresh spicy tension. The heart is dominated by carnation, ylang-ylang, and rose, adding warmth and complexity to the composition. The base of olibanum and French labdanum provides depth and longevity, grounding the bright top notes in a woody embrace.
Apply Baruffa in light layers — it blooms on the skin over time. The aldehydes and citrus notes are initially bright but settle into a more nuanced blend as they mix with your body chemistry. This fragrance is best for daytime wear when you want a scent that evolves gracefully throughout the day.
