Launched in 2019 by Comme des Garçons and crafted by perfumer Alienor Massenet, Copper is an Oriental fragrance that defies convention with its distinctive metallic notes and rich oriental accords. The composition opens with green and aromatic elements like galbanum and pink pepper, creating a fresh yet complex top layer. As it develops, the scent shifts to a heart of tobacco leaf and ginger, adding warmth and depth. The base is anchored by vanilla, amber, and myrrh, which lend a balsamic sweetness that lingers on the skin.
Apply Copper sparingly to avoid overpowering its nuanced layers. The metallic notes are most pronounced in the first hour, so you’ll want to experience it close to skin for maximum impact. It’s best suited for evening wear when the warm amber and vanilla can develop fully.
