Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Dior launched Dune Parfum in 1991 as a collaboration between perfumers Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Nejla Barbir, and Dominique Ropion. This fragrance is an Oriental Spicy composition that begins with aldehydes and mandarin orange, leading to a heart of peony, rose, and lily, before settling into a rich base of patchouli, sandalwood, ambergris, oakmoss, and musk. The scent balances the warmth of spices and woods with the softness of white florals, creating an enveloping embrace that is both intimate and sophisticated.
Apply Dune Parfum to pulse points and let it settle into your skin for about an hour. The aldehydes will dissipate quickly, giving way to the rich base notes that last throughout the day. It’s best suited for evening wear or cooler weather when you want a scent that whispers rather than shouts.
