Launched in 2022 by Guerlain, Shalimar Millésime Tonka is a luxurious Oriental Vanilla fragrance crafted by perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk. This scent opens with the bright freshness of bergamot and bitter almond, quickly giving way to the rich, warm heart of jasmine sambac, rose, and iris. The base notes of tonka bean and vanilla create a deeply comforting, nutty sweetness that feels like a warm embrace. This fragrance continues Guerlain's tradition of using luxurious materials, drawing on French vanilla and other rare ingredients to craft an opulent yet intimate experience.
One spray to each wrist and neck is sufficient — the rich base notes of tonka bean and vanilla develop slowly over time. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than across a room, so layering it with light powder can enhance its intimate warmth.
