The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2018 by Guerlain and crafted by Thierry Wasser, Shalimar Souffle de Lumière is a vibrant Oriental Floral fragrance that balances freshness with warmth. The composition opens with the bright zing of Calabrian bergamot, which gives way to the rich floral notes of Italian Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang. At its core, Vanilla and Benzoin create a sweet and powdery heart, while White Musk adds an enveloping softness. This fragrance exemplifies Guerlain's tradition of using luxurious materials like French vanilla and ylang-ylang from their own plantations in the Comoro Islands.
One or two sprays are sufficient to capture the essence of this fragrance. The fresh citrus notes are prominent at first but give way to the warm base within an hour. Best suited for daytime wear when you want a soft yet noticeable scent that lasts through the afternoon.
