The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1979, Eau d'Orange Verte by Hermès is a composition that captures the essence of Parisian elegance with its bright and verdant character. Perfumers Françoise Caron and Jean-Claude Ellena crafted this fragrance to be a study in contrasts: crisp citrus notes like orange and lemon blend seamlessly into the lush greenery of mint and cassis, creating a harmonious tension that is both refreshing and grounding. The base notes of oakmoss and patchouli add an earthy warmth that anchors the composition, making it feel lasting yet contemporary.
Apply Eau d'Orange Verte with two sprays to capture its full range. The citrus top notes are bright but moderate in longevity, while the earthy base notes develop over time. This fragrance reads best close to skin rather than across a room.
