Launched in 2000 by Hermès and crafted by perfumer Akiko Kamei, Rouge Hermès is a chypre floral that embodies the brand’s commitment to elegance and sophistication. The fragrance opens with a burst of rose and ylang-ylang before settling into a warm, powdery base of sandalwood, amber, and vanilla. Iris adds depth and complexity, while myrtle brings an aromatic freshness that cuts through the richness. Rouge Hermès is neither overtly sweet nor heavy; instead, it strikes a balance between classic luxury and modern refinement.
Rouge Hermès has a long-lasting base that blooms over time. Apply one or two sprays to pulse points for a steady warmth throughout the day. The parfum concentration means it projects well close to skin, so a light hand is recommended.

Akiko Kamei, originally trained as a dietician in Kōchi, Japan, developed a passion for French culture and moved to France, securing an internship at Roure in Grasse in the early 1970s alongside future colleagues Pierre Bourdon, Édouard Fléchier, and Michel Almairac.
