The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1929 by the esteemed French perfume house Houbigant, Demi-Jour (1929) is a Floral Aldehyde fragrance that captures the essence of early 20th-century elegance. The composition begins with aldehydes and bergamot, creating an initial sense of freshness and brightness. This gives way to a heart of lily of the valley, jasmine, and rose, which are softened by the powdery notes of violet and orris. The base of sandalwood, cedarwood, oakmoss, and musk adds depth and warmth, grounding the scent in an earthy complexity.
Apply Demi-Jour (1929) to pulse points in the morning for a scent that evolves throughout the day. The aldehydes are bright initially but quickly meld with the floral heart, making it ideal for daytime wear. Avoid over-application; one or two sprays allow each layer to develop naturally.
