Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Jean-Claude Ellena, the nose behind Osmanthus by The Different Company, launched this floral scent in 2000, crafting a composition that marries green notes and citrus with osmanthus and jasmine. The interplay between fresh bergamot and mandarin orange creates an uplifting opening, while geranium and rose add depth to the heart. The base of musk rounds out the fragrance, lending it an enduring warmth. Osmanthus is neither overly sweet nor overpowering; instead, it balances freshness with subtle spiciness.
Osmanthus is best applied in light layers — a single spray to each wrist and neck will allow it to develop naturally. The top notes are vibrant but fleeting, so wait a few minutes before reapplying if you wish for more presence. This fragrance reads better close to the skin than from across a room.
