Launched in 2008 by Guerlain and crafted by Thierry Wasser, Habit Rouge L'Extrait is an Oriental Woody fragrance that marries the freshness of citrus with warm spices and rich woods. The composition opens with a vibrant mix of basil, orange, lemon, and lime, creating a bright aromatic top note. As these give way to a heart of rose, jasmine, and carnation, the base notes of sandalwood, cedar, cinnamon, leather, vanilla, and amber emerge, grounding the scent in earthy warmth. This fragrance embodies Guerlain's legacy of using luxurious materials, with each layer adding depth and complexity.
Apply two sprays to ensure the citrus top notes are balanced by the rich base. This fragrance blooms gradually, so it’s best experienced close to skin rather than across a room. It is particularly suited for cooler evenings when the warmth of vanilla and leather can be fully appreciated.
