Les Absolus d'Orient Encens Mythique, launched by Guerlain in 2019 and crafted by Thierry Wasser, is a Woody Chypre fragrance that merges the opulence of traditional materials with modern complexity. The composition opens with aldehydes and rose, creating an initial freshness that contrasts with the deeper notes of saffron and pink pepper. As it evolves, vetiver and patchouli add earthy warmth, while ambergris and olibanum introduce a subtle animalic depth. This fragrance is not just a blend but a journey through layers of richly textured scents.
Apply this fragrance with two sprays — the fresh opening is vibrant but fades within an hour. The rich base notes take about an hour to fully bloom, so it’s best to wear it when you have time for layers to develop.
