The story behind the bottle.
Kalan by Parfums de Marly, launched in 2019 and crafted by perfumer Céline Ripert, is an oriental spicy fragrance that marries the warmth of spices with a fresh, woody base. The composition opens with blood orange and black pepper, creating a vibrant contrast before settling into a heart of lavender and orange blossom. This floral touch adds a subtle sweetness that softens the sharpness of the top notes. The base notes of white sandalwood, tonka bean, and amber provide a rich, enveloping warmth.
Apply Kalan to pulse points for a lasting warmth. The spicy top notes are bright but fleeting, so aim for an initial burst followed by the rich base notes that linger throughout the day.
