The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 1988 by Rabanne and crafted by perfumers Pierre Wargnye and Rosendo Mateu, Tenere is a complex aromatic fougère that seamlessly blends crisp green and citrus notes with warm spices and woody undertones. The fragrance opens with lavender, cassia, rosemary, and lemon, creating an invigorating freshness that transitions into a heart of honey, rose, jasmine, and artemisia, adding depth and warmth. As it settles on the skin, Tenere reveals a base of leather, patchouli, musk, amber, vetiver, and cedar, evoking a sense of lasting sophistication.
Apply two sprays to ensure that the initial freshness lingers without overpowering. The base notes develop gradually over time, so it's best to let them settle for about an hour before reapplying if needed. Tenere is particularly suited for daytime wear, where its crisp and warm character shines.
