Launched in 2023 by Rosendo Mateu Olfactive Expressions, 1988 is a Woody Aquatic fragrance that captures the essence of a fresh sea breeze. The composition opens with dewy and citric notes that evoke the early morning mist over the ocean, leading into an aquatic heart that feels like diving into cool, salty water. Beneath this, woody and musky base notes provide warmth and depth, grounding the aquatic freshness in earthy richness.
Two sprays are sufficient to capture the full essence of this fragrance. The dewy and citric top notes fade relatively quickly, but the musky and woody base notes linger throughout the day. It's best worn in cooler weather when the aquatic freshness can be fully appreciated.

From Puig apprentice to Master PerfumerRosendo Mateu began his fragrance career at 15 as an apprentice at the Puig perfumery company in Barcelona, later studying at Master Marcel Carles's Roure School in Grasse, then in Geneva with Arturo Jordi Pey at Firmenich and in Paris with Max Gavarry at IFF.
