The story behind the bottle.
Rosendo Mateu built Incense Wood around a deliberate collision: the thin, resinous smoke of incense meeting a base so dense with Ceylon cinnamon, Madagascar cloves, and cardamom that the whole composition reads less like a temple and more like the interior of one — warm, sweet, almost liturgical. The citrus and bergamot top is brief, a bright spark before the smoke takes hold.
What carries the EDP through its long, moderate-sillage life is the amber-labdanum-vanilla floor beneath the sandalwood and palisander rosewood. That base is where the fragrance lives for most of its wear: a powdery, balsamic warmth that feels like wood heated by a fire rather than a fire itself. Launched in 2020 as a unisex entry in the Olfactive Expressions line, it trades the brand's Spanish clarity for something denser and more interior.
The citrus top burns off within twenty minutes, so don't judge the fragrance by its first impression — the cinnamon and incense need ten minutes to settle before the amber-vanilla base starts its real work. One spray to the wrists is enough given the moderate sillage; it lingers close to skin for eight hours or more without filling a room.
