The story behind the bottle.

Scentsation editorial

Gardenia by Penhaligon's was launched in 1976 and crafted by Michael Pickthall and Mike Parrott, capturing the essence of its namesake flower with an intricate blend of white florals and a subtle animalic undertone. The fragrance opens with green notes and magnolia before giving way to a heart rich in gardenia, tuberose, and jasmine. The base layers of musk, vanilla, and sandalwood provide warmth and depth, creating a composition that is both delicate and captivating.

How to wear it

Apply Gardenia to pulse points for a warm, enveloping effect. The fragrance develops best close to the skin, so a few targeted sprays will enhance its depth over time. It's particularly suited for evenings or cooler days when the animalic notes can be appreciated more fully.
