Black Opium Exotic Illusion by Yves Saint Laurent was launched in 2019 and is a collaboration among perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp, and Honorine Blanc. This Oriental Vanilla fragrance opens with pear and orange blossom, creating an initial burst of freshness before transitioning into the heart where pink pepper and coffee add a spicy warmth. The base notes of vanilla, cedar, patchouli, and cashmere wood provide a luxurious depth that grounds the composition in rich comfort.
Apply this fragrance in layers; it blooms gradually over time. The top notes are fleeting but vibrant, while the base notes settle into your skin for hours. Ideal for evening wear when you want a scent that evolves with you.
