The story behind the bottle.
Y Eau Fraiche by Yves Saint Laurent, launched in 2020 and crafted by perfumers Claire Liégent and Dominique Ropion, is a Woody Aromatic fragrance that embodies the freshness of crisp morning air. The composition opens with lemon and ginger, cutting through with a bright, invigorating quality before settling into a heart of mint, lavender, and geranium. These notes bring an aromatic green depth that balances well against juniper berries and olibanum, creating a sense of grounded freshness. The base of cedar adds warmth without heaviness, ensuring the fragrance remains light yet substantial.
Start with one spray to the chest; the citrus and spicy top notes will make their presence felt immediately. The base of cedar warms up over time, so it's best applied at least an hour before you need it to be fully settled. This fragrance reads better close to skin than from a distance.
