Jean-Paul Guerlain launched Metalica (Metalys) by Guerlain in 2000, crafting an Oriental Spicy fragrance that balances bright citrus with warm spices and rich vanilla. The opening notes of orange, bergamot, and grapefruit create a vibrant freshness, while the heart is a harmonious blend of carnation, ylang-ylang, iris, and rose. The base notes of vanilla, tonka bean, amber, and musk provide a comforting warmth that anchors the composition.
This fragrance blooms best with a generous application to pulse points. The citrus notes are bright but fleeting, so layering it over a moisturizer can help extend the freshness. For longer-lasting warmth, reapply the base notes later in the day.
