Launched in 2017 by Penhaligon's, Agarwood is a bold Oriental Woody fragrance created by perfumer Christian Provenzano. The composition centers on oud, a rich and complex resin with an almost mystical quality. This core note is balanced by warm spiciness and vanilla sweetness, creating an intense yet harmonious blend that evokes the depths of ancient forests. The woody base and white floral notes add layers of sophistication, while the aromatic and amber accords provide an earthy warmth.
Agarwood's base notes take time to bloom fully, so apply it a bit heavier than usual. The fragrance is designed to be close to the skin rather than projecting widely, making it ideal for intimate settings or evenings out where subtle complexity shines.
