Who Wears It
The story behind the bottle.
Launched in 2019 and crafted by perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Marie Salamagne, Olivier Cresp, and Honorine Blanc, Black Opium Shine On by Yves Saint Laurent is a modern reimagining of the iconic Black Opium line. This Oriental Vanilla fragrance opens with pear and orange blossom, bringing a fresh yet slightly sweet aroma to the forefront. The heart of jasmine and almond adds depth and warmth, while the base notes of vanilla, patchouli, cashmere wood, and cedar create a rich, enveloping finish that feels both luxurious and comforting.
Apply this fragrance in layers for maximum impact. The top notes of pear and orange blossom are bright but fleeting, so allow it to settle into your skin before adding a second layer. This will ensure that the rich base notes of vanilla and patchouli take center stage as the day progresses.
