The story behind the bottle.
L’Homme Cologne Gingembre by Yves Saint Laurent, launched in 2011 and crafted by perfumers Pierre Wargnye, Anne Flipo, and Dominique Ropion, is a fresh spicy cologne that marries aquatic and aromatic notes with unexpected warmth. The opening features water notes, bergamot, and ginger, creating an immediate sense of freshness and energy. As the composition evolves, white pepper, basil, and violet leaf add complexity, while musk, Virginia cedar, vetiver, and oak moss ground it in a woody, musky base.
Apply two sprays to ensure the full range of notes is present throughout the day. The fresh spicy opening is bright but fades after about an hour, so reapply if you want the initial burst of ginger and bergamot to linger longer.
